Villa Iorgu Antonescu was designed by the famous arch. Petre Antonescu for his cousin, Iorgu Antonescu, in his hometown – Ramnicu Sarat, Buzau county.

The architect Petre Antonescu was the first to apply neo-Romanian style to monumental scale, for multi-level buildings with complex functions.

The villa is built in Ramnicu Sarat, 35 km away from the city of Buzau, built in a neo-Romanian style, with a compact volume, not very sophisticated, which evokes traditional Romanian architecture. 

The villa is a family heritage, being owned by the same family for almost 90 years.

The architect Petre Antonescu was born in Ramnicu Sarat, in Buzau County. 

His most representative works are landmarks for Bucharest and Romania: Bucharest City Hall, Arc de Triomphe, Banca Marmorosch-Blank, Bratianu complex, Oprea Soare House, the Palace of the Faculty of Law, Students' Culture House, Cretulescu Palace, Polytechnic Society Palace (now the headquarters of the General Association of Romanian Engineers), Nicolae Iorga Institute of History.
